Frank,

The model you have mentioned seems to be a standalone player/recorder. Are you trying to connect to to your computer and burn cds ? If not, provide a detailed description ?

The member stated it was IDE so that means it connects internally to the pc. Optical drives never require a driver when used in any Windows os from 95 up. Windows XP provides native support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk and to burn a cd-r disk. No support for burning cd-rw or for playing dvd disks. For those 2 tasks, compatible recording and dvd decoding software is required.
