Optical drives never require a driver when used in any Windows os from 95 up. Windows XP provides native support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk and to burn a cd-r disk.

Please state what your problem is and include some details from device manager and from bios setup.

Note: Internal drives don't have "other" interfaces. Most modern drives have IDE interfaces.
