sis-5598-w877-2a5iib0rc-00 looks more like a bios id string than a fcc id #.

Need validation of bios id string, brand and model of motherboard to help you.

I am an A+ certified tech. This is my 1st atempt @ upgrading the bios/cmos. You are right it is the bios id string. How do you get the fcc id#? Thanks for your input Jerry.

You don't really need the fcc id # since the bios id string id's who the manufacturer is, ie: B0 = BioStar. But you will need to look at the motherboard and note the model number.
