I also would need help for my DVDROM Drive because the system is not recognizing it either and I've had this drive for over 2 yrs.

Please read the links I left if you previous post. DVD optical drives do not require a driver when used in any Windows os from 95 up. Reading a data or music disk is native and included with the os. DVD read support comes from dvd decoding software.

It sounds like you need to delete the upper and lower filters in the registry. You can find instructions for doing this in the first link of the previous comment I left.
