Scarlet 03-23-2004, 10:29 PM I have just purchased a secondhand Umax Actionbook 345T laptop, which is not working correctly. I was wondering if anyone knew what make/model the sound card/graqphics card/modem are, the reason being I can only get 256 colours on the graphics card when it should be at least 16 bit, the sound card is not working and the modem is also not working, these are due to the drivers not being installed. I have tried installing the drivers through the Windows 98 OS disc, and also searching the internet, but nothing works.
I would really appreciate any help possible as it has totally done my head in.
Thanks in advance
Scarlet

Scarlet,
you could try a utility like belarc advisor to identify the unknown devices . it is available at http://www.belarc.com .
hope this helps,

I downloaded all the drivers off of their web site before it disappeared several years ago, but there were no xp or win2k drivers and this is all i can remember.

Kapok drivers; there is no model 2000 listed
Download the user manuals for the 1100, 1200 series and see if matches your hardware. The hardware could have changed depending on whos name the laptop was sold under. But its a start.

Unregistered 06-17-2004, 08:02 PM WinXP has all the drivers for this laptop, and it runs far faster and at a lower temp than with older versions.
What you will need though is a program called phdisk for the save mem to hard drive used in the slep mode, and also a prog called EZButton to make the extra internet buttons work. I would recommend not installing phdisk as it seems to harddrives up after a while, but ezbutton is worth installing.
Also to get the infrared port to work you will need to enable in the cmos settings.
I recently got one of these beasts working so if anyone has any specific probs with this laptop and xp ill be keeping an eyeout on this forum.

Linker 07-06-2004, 03:00 PM Zhangduo/Huntersoft "Unknown Device Identifier" is a rip-off of someone's else's work.
Zhangduo/Huntersoft software should be avoided and "has" been known to be virus infected. The company also releases programs as freeware that later stop working then try to make you pay for a working retail product of a similar name. They sxxk.
