Just an update on this driver. I was able to find a valid copy of this file at this page here: CMI8738 Asound Driver Download (http://computerquestionhelp.com/drivers/sound-card-drivers-for-asound-cmi8738-series.html)

Downside: Their website requires that you register a free account to download it. However, I was able to download it without any issues after doing so.
