"HSP 56" is a modem term (not related to sound) HSP = Host Signal Processing = El Cheapo Modem
If your sound chipset is CMI8738, that's a C-Media chipset and drivers can be found here:

I personally never heard of Yamaha ESDX.

so i was looking for a sound card driver just like that esdx hsp56 only mines a
c-media model cm18738/pci-sx and got a driver from their web site http://www.cmedia.com.tw/?q=en/getdriver.php any way mabe this will help you've givin me alot of drivers in the past so i want to give back a little...

There is no CM18738... never has.... it's CMI8738 (C-Media Inc.)

and what does your last sentence of recovery of lost and obsolete parts mean?
