: Have downloaded the Puretek 3515 modem driver for XP but I am still not getting any sound out of the modem when I connect the speakers. Am I missing sound card drivers,SCSi drivers or is it something else? I'm a total novice,HELP!

I don't think modems should be connected to a set of speakers. The sound out of the modem should connect to the line in of the sound card, then speakers connect to the sound out of the sound card. Try that and you should be able to get the modem sounds to feed thru the sound card and out to the speakers. Not really sure why anyone would want to listen to a squealing modem.... unless they enjoy distressing sounds.

This card is plug and play in Windows 98. I know because I'm using one.

I didn't have to use any drivers. Microsoft included the drivers with the Windows 98SE os.
