: thankyou for that Jerry K but my soundcard is not onboard sound, the drivers specified within the link you gave me were for onboard soundcards, not PCI.
and I suppose you've tested all 50 drivers and none of them work? I checked #1,3,4,5 and there's no indication their for on-board sound. Where did you get info that all 50 drivers are for on-board sound?

Get the file driver listed as

"vibra 16c Sound Card with Radio

(CT 2505 - TDQ2) For Windows 95/98/NT , SB16fm.zip" Unpack and

go to Drivers/Audio and look at the

text documentation.
I followed the instructions

to install the "Sounds Blaster 16 Pnp" card and it worked fine on

my PC.
If you are coming from site home

page go "Driver Downloads" ->

"sound cards" -> "Creative Sound Cards".
I invoked control panel, asked it

to Add Hardware, "yes I have already

installed" -> "Add a new hardware device" -> "Search and install the

hardware automatically" and then

when this fails -> "Next" and "Sound, video and Game Controllers" and finally

"Have Disk" - where I point it to

the indicated directory and the

particular driver file

OEMSETUP.INF
What can I say, it works!

I doubt XP drivers exist for this sound card. But some member claims his uploaded driver is for XP. Try at your own risk.
