Hi everyone, my system shuts down (like when you manually turn the power off) after I disconnect from the internet. I use dialup on an HP pavilion and the problem happens when I disconnect using my ISP's software and when using just the windows connection manager. Virus and Adware scans have come up clean. Also system restore doesn't fix the shutdown on disconnect. HP's tech support couldn't help me so I was wondering if someone here could. Thanks for your time.

Make sure you do not have check marks in boxes labeled: disconnect....

eg: Control Panel, Internet Options, Connections Tab, select isp in box, click Settings, Dialup Settings, Advanced. :)
