Help! I cant access my slave harddisc.

I have a 1,25 Ghz pc with windows XP.

On the primary IDE I have two harddiscs

When turning on the computer the pc identifies both of them.

When trying to look at it through Microsoft manangement, it finds it and says that everything is OK.

(I therefore belive the BIOS is NOT the problem).

But when i try to access it through explorer\filemanager it does not have a letter for it (it should have been F:\) and it does not find it.

It all worked good earlier, but the problem startet after i formatted C:\ because of som Virus.

have you tried computer management

tools

error-checking

reboot for it to work

or computer mamagement and change drive letters.

are they both fat32 or ntfs.

are they both fat32 or ntfs.
I found out if one is a fat32 and the other is a fat16 windows woint read it or if one is a fat32 and one is a ntfs they woint read all so
check to see if both are the same format

I would chose John aga's solution, I'd try his soultion first.

I'm also on XP Pro and andle 4 hard disks.
they are formated in both Fat 32 & NTFS including partitions.
and I have no problem.

You can also check it out with Partition Magic.
and change easily what ever seems needed.

finch, are you smoking that wacky weed again? Jon Aga is the one with the problem... not the solution.
