Plustek never made a model "Opticpro P4800". They did make model "Opticpro 4800P" but it has no support for any Windows os other than Win 3.1 and Win 95.

Thanks Jerry K. I changed my search to 4800P and found a driver that works fine with both W2K and XP.

Could you tell me where you found that driver & what's its name? A hint on where to install it to might help as well. Sorry to be so dim but I do want to get my scanner working again.

Hmmm - I found Jerry K's 4800 driver - just followed the normal search wizard. But no joy: no new hardware found, and when I try to launch the Plustek 'Scanner Utility', I get an error 'scanner DLL not found'. I'm going to try installing from the CD that came with the scanner - but it only goes up to Windows ME, so I don't hold out much hope . . .
