ok i got a sound card from a neighbor of mine. he forgot who made the sound card, gave me no drivers...nothing buit the card itself. knowing as much as i know about this card now, how do i figure out what card it is so i can download and install the proper driver so i can have sound

1st step: engage eyeballs
Now look at sound card and examine it for identification marks/model #/fcc id #/etc.
Now look at the chipsets and note all numbers/names.
Write all that information down and repost with what you found. :insane:

Hello Jerry, I've been having same probs as a lot of people re sound card and XP. I'm going to take your advice and actually open my PC for the very first time OMG! Wish me luck lol.

Once you folks know what sound chipset or sound card you have, please post your DRIVER REQUESTS in the DRIVER REQUEST FORUM, Sound Card section.
