I got some excellent printer driver help here before, and hope somebody can help me again!

I have done resumes in both Microsoft Works Word Processor version 6, and also Microsoft WordPad Windows ME edition. Both programs came on my HP computer. When we try and attach and send these files to someone....they can open it, but it's just a mumble jumble. The spacing, formatting, etc... is all off, and really they can read it, but the columns and returns seam to be lost. What's strange, is that sometimes SOME people can read it with no problems and others can't????

Do you have any ideas? I need to get it fixed, as we will need to email resumes to future employers and if they can't read it...we may as well not even send it.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

Thanks for your help.
Nancy

Any file/document created in Works Version 6, requires a compatible program by the person you send the file to. If they don't have a compatible program, they will get what you describe simply because they're system doesn't have a program installed that will read Works format files. ie: xxx.wks. There are several programs/plugins that will make the Works format readable using other programs like Microsoft Word, providing it has the correct add-on to convert Works format files, but if the user doesn't have that program installed, they will not be able to read the file you send to them.

Now, Wordpad is pretty universal and anyone that has Windows installed can read a Wordpad created file, simply because it's in txt format. Just about any text viewer program can read txt files. Again most folks will have a program that can read this format.

I suggest you send them files that are universal and can be read by almost any one who has Windows installed on their computer....eg: txt or doc files.
