I'm having trouble with my sound and audio. When looking in device manager, an exclamation mark is imposed oover the description. I have searched for the drivers for windows XP for this device but must be dumb as I cannot for the life of me find it.
I would appreciate any help whatsoever in getting my sound to work again!
Thanks in advance.

Try the old stuffing stocker of going to the Ford house to get Ford parts. Intel doesn't necessarily make all motherboards. Many mb manufacturers use Intel chipsets on their motheboards. Try visiting the website of the manufacturer who built your motherboard. Most have on-board sound drivers posted for their sound chipsets.

Appreciate the help but I'm rather a novice when it comes to this. How do I find out who made my motherboard? I've googled the make and model of my computer without much success.
