I recently lost my beloved pentium 3 to an annoying virus, the operating system starts, but doesnt stay stable long enough for me to create a start up disk so that i can reinstall the operating system. If anyone could please create a start up disk and then email the files to me i would be over joyed. Or else maybe mention a program that would allow me to create one for my self. my email address is nfafc4@aol.com

Not that easy. You need for a System disk a Bootable Disc,
beause the Systemfiles have to be in a specified Sector,
that the System will start. So, it not enough, only to copy the files on a Disc and try to boot from it.
You can try to start Windows in Protectmode, therefor you hit at Startup few Times F8 and choose Start in Protect Mode, and make the Disk there.
But it still looks like, you still have a Virus on your Pc.
Or maybe you have a Friend, where you can get one.

If you have the original 98SE install disk you can boot from it. Access your Bios setup (Del, F1, Esc keys etc) and change the boot order from C: drive to CD-rom, assuming your Bios is new enough to have that feature available. Then run a virus scan using your virus scan emergency disks from a dos command prompt, if you have them. (Can get online from most AV Cos.)

Being a pentium 3, you should be able to go to the bios and change the boot sequence to cd-rom, ide, floppy. once the computer starts in cd-rom mode, all you have to do is put your windows CD in the drive and it will allow you to reinstall the operating system. but i agree, you still may have a virus on your system. but if you can get the computer started, you may be able to get your data off and start from scratch.
