I'm trying to find the required drivers (Freecom I believe) that are needed to install the OnStream USB30 Tape Backup Unit that are compatible with Windows XP. Can anyone help please? Thank you.
I found the Freecom drivers (or so I thought) on the following web page, but they are actually drivers for the Onstream DI-30 tape drive vice the USB30 tape drive. The "Add Hardware Wizard" recognized them in its heading as software for the DI-30 drive.
http://www.hastec.nl/drivers/onstream/freecom_usb_driver_for_usb30.htm

I did, however, find other useful OnStream software, etc., at this web site. The following web page contains a number of OnStream support links that may be helpful to others:
http://www.hastec.nl/drivers/onstream/support.htm

(By the way, OnStream currently provides no support since they went brankupt.)

Thank you for providing a usefull post. besides being coherent in your device and problem you also provided a link to said site!!!

this makes our task of helping you much simpler.
however note that you did not actually state WHICH file name you tried or the exact nature of the problem while installing.
to get the drive to work with the Freecom driver you must attach the drive to a USB port without using a hub. If you use a hub, then the PC won't recognize the drive on subsequent reboots after the initial install. OnStream says the issue is with the USB driver
also some hp USB printers can cause issues.
