If you have Windows XP, you already have the Windows XP driver. It simple only needs installed.
Installation instructions:

1: Click START, then click on PRINTERS & FAXES

2: Click on ADD A PRINTER

3: At Welcome screen click NEXT

4: Select LOCAL PRINTER (if printer is attached directly to computer) and click NEXT

5: Choose LPT1 (in most situations) or a different port if not LPT1 then click NEXT

6: Select "Digital" in left window

7: Select "Digital DECLaser 1152 17 or 43 Fonts" in right window

8: Click NEXT

9: Type name for printer or accept default name

10: Click No to "Do you want to print test page".

11: Click FINISH

12: Test printer by sending a print job to printer.
If you experience problems after installing this driver, please consult the printer user manual for proper lpt bios settings. eg: spp, ecp, etc. and change the lpt pc bios settings to match manufacturer's suggested settings. If you do not have a manual, then experiment with the settings and use the one that provides the best results.

This driver is provided by Microsoft and is included with every copy of Windows 98SE.
Installation Instructions:

If the printer is hooked directly (parallel) to the computer, follow these instructions for standard installation of the appropriate printer driver.
1.Click Start, Settings, then Printers.

2.Double-click Add Printer.

3.Click Next.

4.Choose "Panasonic" from the Manufacturer list in the left window.

5.Choose model "Panasonic KX-P4420" from the printer list in the right window.

6.Click NEXT

7.Select Port (usually LPT1) then click Next.

8.Select Yes if this printer is the default printer, or select No if this printer will only handle selected print jobs. Click Next to continue.

9.Select No to skip the test page then click Next.

10.Click Finish to complete the installation.

11.If asked for a Windows disk, insert the appropriate Windows or PC Recovery disk and follow the instructions on the screen. Once the driver has been installed, it will be listed in the Printers window (Start, Settings, and Printers).

12.Close the Printers window and try printing.
If you have trouble with garbage printouts after installing this driver, check your lpt bios settings and make sure it's set to ECP instead of SPP. Also make sure you have a high compliant IEEE (double shielded) cable connected from lpt port to printer.
