Just installed XP pro..........no sound. I had sound before using 98. currently running Via ac97....tried updating driver to no avail....HELP, PLEASE!!!

Jerry K 10-15-2003, 02:22 PM Unless you can id your motherboard brand and model, or state what the sound chipset is (AC 97 is just a general term that can apply to literally dozens of sound chipsets), we won't be able to help you. Also when saying "I downloaded an unknown file from some unknown place", this does not provide us with any usable information. Please state specifics when asking for help.
