I own a Dell computer that runs Windows ME. I want to upgrade to Window XP but I need to know the drivers I will need. These drivers of course have to be compatible with my computer (Dell Dimension L866r). I called Dell, but they will not give me the links to drivers unless I buy the Windows XP CD from them which is over $200!

Can anyone help me find the appropriate drivers and the links so that I can download them?

try this, I have copied the link to a microsoft windows web site for you to download an xp conversion file that will run a report for you to tell you what will work and what won't. I have joined drive.com for the reason I am considering a WIN 98 upgrade to XP on a COMPAq system
and have been searching for component drivers that are for WIN XP
before I install it. Hope this helps ID what you need to find. The
Dell CD and others do cost about $200. You have to give it up to good ol' Bill he has to make up the antitrust losses somehow. Let me know if this will help you get started on your journey towards XP. At least it may tell you if it is worht it for your device.

Why don't you first download the free trial Driver Kit from this website and it will show you what drivers are on your existing computer. Make a note or print out the information and then search for those drivers on this website or do a general search on www.google.com.

Other companies and/or individuals setup websites for drivers as well.

Hope this helps.
