HD's do not use drivers in the normal sense, please state what the issue is. if it's LARGE DRIVE SUPPORT...visit the maxtor web site and READ THE HELP/SUPPORT section. as this problem was/has been resolved years ago by the drive makers. (for maxtor it's called maxblast)

I am having a problem finding the driver for my SATA Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9. I have tried contacting the mb manufacturer (Gigabyte) but as yet have not been able to find a driver that will enable the HDD to be found during installation of Windows XP. Without the driver, I get a message during setp stating there is no HDD detected. I have double checked all connections (power an SATA) and still get the same message. Can anyone help?

it is NOT the hard drive that requires a driver,...it is the SATA chipset used on the board!!!! please read your motherboard directions on how to install the sata driver. i know for a fact that Gigabyte posts manuals/drivers for all current and past products....get with the program and make USE of what the vendor has made available to you!!!!!
