What is the best way to re-format a 40 gig hard drive for use with Windows 2000 Professional. I have several problems with the current one. I even suspect a virus. Ideas

dig deep in the drawer on your desk-
you have a startup-disc from win ME ?
that works fine on any FAT system.
On a NTFS partision the only way is the 4 setupdisks for 2K.
during setup prosess you get an option for format / split / remove disks etc

if they are missing find 4 formated -1.44 diskets
then on the cd win2k look for the folder " BOOTDISK "
enter disket 1 and type "makebt32" if not working write "makeboot"
follow the guiding through all 4 disks
finaly remove diskets, leave cd in reader
and enter disket marked nr1
power off pc and cold restart the system from A:
