I've tried to install memory in my computer I went to gateway and tried to locate what i would need and got a " No supported products found" I went to a couple of web sites and looked for information on my computer,( I'm using a Gateway Essiential 866)and got the information I thought I needed. I went to a locale computer shop and got the same info, all seemed to be in agreement. I purchased the recommended card, and got a not functioning moniter w/ a warning stating " Monitor is working fine please check power supply/ cords." Were can I turn now, after removing memeory card all is working again but no added memory?
please send me or recomend my next step?

Navigating Gateways support can be a nightmare!
What motherboard is it, since Gateway doesn't build their own boards?
What CPU are you running?
What is the FSB?
are you running DIMM, PC100 or PC133?
Does your bios Auto configure the CPU speed?
Sounds like the wrong ram configuration!
What kind of sticks did you buy and how big are they?
Is this an old board?
Lots of questons, would really help if we know!

( well the main problem is you have to put the memory in order from high to low you highest memory chip goes in slot one lower goes slot 2 and so on so on
