I don't know if this is a driver problem or what.
The keyboard does not input certain charactors unless that particular key is either hit twice or held down for a couple of seconds. (apostrophe/quotes key, and the tilde/accent mark key only) other keyboards have been tried - same behaviour.
There are no keyboard driver updates listed for this Dell Model on the dell download site. (if this is even a driver issue?)

I have, at various times, diddled with the keyboard accessability settings for repeat, delay, and cursor rate.

Dell tech support was no help - all they could suggest is to wipe the HD and re-install everything!
