What OS are you running?
click Run. In the box that appears, type winver, and then click OK. The window that appears will show you which version of Windows your computer is using. If you see 64-Bit Edition in the product name along with Windows XP then go here and down load this from microsoft.

This is what TechTV says about the 64 bit system:

http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/products/story/0,24330,3610647,00.html

the article basically talks about compatibility of applications such as winzip and nero it also tests a few games with NVIDIA based cards since there are still no ATI drivers floating on the internet.

their conclusion of the windows xP64 beta is:

At this time, we do not recommend installing Windows XP 64-Bit Edition. With few programs taking any advantage of the new 64-bit environment, we see Microsoft's latest beta release as a means of raising awareness among software developers. If a few popular applications are shown to benefit significantly from the AMD 64/XP64 combination, it would go a long way toward prompting Microsoft to make the beta official.
