hi,
i recently installed the driver i downloaded for my pctel modem. windows detected the new hardware and automatically installed it. all is dandy but when i try to run diagnostics and click more info. it tries to communicate with modem. but a separate small window says "cant open comm port". please help.
do i have the right driver and am i installing it correctly?

and if it happens to be a jumperless modem, what then? Perhaps moving it to a different pci slot will cure the problem.
