My friend didn't realize what she was doing when she "changed the battery" on the motherboard and now no longer has the ability to identify anything with a CD(CD ROM on 2nd IDE). Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Enter pc bios setup and reenter the hardware specs for onboard hardware devices. Sounds like your secondary ide port is enabled and set to correct settings to match hardware.
