I formatted my hard drive and do not have the drivers for sound card, modem or video. I open the computer and I see that there is no video,sound card , they are mounted to the motherboard. Help?

Need to know what mobo you have?
When you powerup the system from a cold boot, press the pause/break key and hold it down, this will prevent POST, the bios string will be at the bottom of the display, write them down and send it to me and I will ID the board and get you to some sites to download the drivers!

Duckster's reply right on the money (and his offer to help very generous), but if you can't get through to said person, you can probably ID the motherboard manufacturer yourself by opening the case and looking on the motherboard for said info or failing that there should be something like "FCC ID:xxxxxxxxx or xxx-xxxxxx" (I think that's the right # of digits, but it's not to precise)- there's the link right into the FCC ID page on driverguide and a bunch of other sites, go to the motherboard manufacturer for your drivers, as the BIOS man. will have the downloads, but they won't be free; also sometimes the manufacturer of the machine itself keeps the drivers available on their site.

I am temporarily leaving this thread open since you seem to need help id'ing your motherboard. However, asking for drivers is not permitted in this SUPPORT FORUM. We do have a DRIVERS REQUEST forum so your post should be in the MISCELLANEOUS section of that forum rather than in this one. :)
