Thats correct. You can not use upgrade XP on Windows 98/98SE or ME.
The best sinario is to buy Windows XP Home or Pro Full Version.
Boot from CD! or goto www.bootdisk.com or was it www.bootdisks.com well anyway you can try win XP boot disk(s).

Also stop by the www.microsoft.com/windowsxp
support!
don't waite for ever on hold on the phone.
but you'll need ot activate Windows XP after install.
