So i have just updated my ASUS K8V mother board BIOS and now when it boots up my Maxtor SATA hard drive no longer comes up while booting. It says both SATA channels are empty. If i go in to FastBuild Utility its there and it lets me define an array. This makes it selectable to the BIOS as a boot device "FT 378 Ary 1" Yet I try to install XP and it says there are no HD's pressent. when i run the Maxtor Installation program it says its there.. formats it and then puts the files on it so Win XP will install. But still comes up with no hard drives pressent when trying to install XP. Please help.

Sounds like you have a raid controller (Promise).
If so, you must press F6 when XP asks you when
you're installing the OS, then install the Promise
drivers on a floppy when it asks you to.
