Your drive cannot be internal and have a PCMCIA interface. Internal drives only have IDE (or older SCSI) interfaces.
No drivers are required when using this drive in Windows XP (other than what the os provides and by compatible recording and dvd decoding software). Windows XP includes native support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk and to burn a cd-r disk. It contains no support for burning cd-rw or for playing dvd disks. For those 2 tasks, compatible recording and dvd decoding software is required.
