The SD-R2102 does not have a scsi interface. It has a modem IDE interface like 99% of all drives manufactured in the last 2 or so years. And it does NOT require any driver when used in Windows XP. So I gotta ask, What is the problem and please include some details.

: : Jerry, My Presario 1700T stopped recognizing the dvd/cd this past week, during attempts to download and install Office. I uninstall the driver, use Add New Hardware to recognize and attempt to reinstall the driver, but it fails to do this. I read what you said, but that doesn't help me--in crisis right now with no contact/word processing/calander program, and no way to re-install the old program (killed by attempts by Office to install, and on a CD)--get past this impasse. Any and all help is appreciated.
