I purchased a low-cost barebones PC from "Cybertron" and outfitted it with all of the components necessary to make it work. I was able to set it up correctly using the driver CD that was included with the kit, which was comprised of a case, motherboard, processor, and integrated sound, video, network, and more. All of the drivers loaded from the CD and everything has worked perfectly until Windows Update posted an update for my video drivers called "SiS Mirage Graphics". Ever since I downloaded this update, I have had trouble with the display being off-center, or the computer's failure to turn the monitor off or needing to reboot in order to get the monitor to come back on. I have tried to uninstall the device from Device Manager, and have also tried reinstalling specific drivers and using driver rollback. However, the new drivers are still in the system somewhere, because Windows automatically loads these drivers upon reboot (the screen flickers while the computer does this). I am trying to find the best
drivers from the Internet, but I am not completely sure what hardware I have installed, as the included documentation is very poor. It was advertised as a "Cybertron" barebones PC, and has an AMD Duron processor. The manual does not state a company name, but does say that it is a "M863 series" mainboard, and I have seen the names "SiS" and "PC Chips" that are somehow related in my search. I found some driver files that work for all of the other onboard hardware components, but while the video drivers from the same site are recognized by Windows as the correct drivers, they still do not work and again cause the above problems. I can avoid problems by disabling the display adapter and using the generic drivers, but this causes poor performance and prevents me from setting my monitor to turn off. However, when the new drivers are installed and active the devices connected to my USB ports do not work (Device Manager reports the USB controller as being installed twice). Please help me remove the many incorrect
drivers that have been loaded and determine the best driver from the Internet for my hardware.
