Hoping someone can help me. I have a dvd/cd-rom combo, and I am able to play dvd's on it but not cd-rom's or cd's. I was able to up until a short time ago, when it decided to disappear. When i looked in Atapi_cd.sys notepad it says: WARNING: CD-ROM DRIVE IS CONFIGURED AS A SLAVE BUT NO MASTER DRIVE WAS FOUND. Can someone help with this?

If this is your only cd/dvd rom drive, you may need to remove the cd/dvd combo from your computer (taking all the precautions normall taken) and check on back of the unit where the plug goes in, next to there there will be a set of 'jumper' connections, If it is the only cd/dvd rom on your computer, it will need to be set as the master. Check and move the 'jumper' terminal as required

Maybe you should try to reinstall the atapi_cd.sys files the are a few updates available.
