Hi

I have a hardware lock/dongle for a software package. This fits on the parallel port.

The problem is that the system does not see it?? dont know if its a BIOS or Chipset thing or maybe something else.

The 'dongle' works fine on other PC's

HELP!

BTW the Op Sys is Win98SE

Works ok on old p2 and p3 units

ALL PC's have Intel processors but the problem PC has a P4 processor and 845G/GL chipset

Go to one of the pc's the device works on and check the bios setup for the parallel port (lptx). Set the pc bios settings the same on the non-working machine.

example: if the lptx port is set to SPP, set the non-working machine ltpx bios setting exactly the same.

x=ltp port number... usually 1 :)

no joy, allready tried that.

Bios lists spp but cant select it
